Early this morning, board a short flight from Nepalgunj to Jumla, the gateway to your trek. Situated at an altitude of 2,540 meters, Jumla is a high-altitude town in Nepal's Karnali region, renowned for being one of the highest rice-growing areas globally. Upon arrival, take time to explore this charming and remote town. Wander through Khalanga Bazaar, where you can soak in the local atmosphere and observe the vibrant daily life. Visit local temples to gain insight into the region's cultural and spiritual heritage. This day is also an opportunity to acclimate to the higher altitude, helping you prepare for the trek ahead. Your journey starts with a steady climb from Jumla to Chere Chaur.. The trail follows the Jugad Khola river, passing through charming villages and terraced fields. The route offers a glimpse of the rural lifestyle and traditional farming methods. As you climb higher, the landscape changes to lush forests of pine and oak. The final stretch to Chere Chaur is a gentle climb, where you’ll set up camp for the night. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and rest well after your first day of trekking.
Today’s trek takes you through dense forests of rhododendron, birch, and pine as you ascend to the Jaljala Pass. From the pass, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks. From Nepalgunj, transfer to an afternoon flight bound for Kathmandu, the bustling capital of Nepal.
