For a more time-efficient and scenic travel experience, consider opting for a short 30-minute flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara instead of the 6-7 hour drive. Drive to Kande and trek through Australian Camp to Pitam Deurali – Scenic Annapurna Journey

Begin your trek with a short drive (40 minutes) to Kande. From there, trek to Deurali (2,100m) via the Australian Camp (2,065 m). The trek covers approximately 6 km and takes 4-5 hours. The trail ascends through lush forests, terraced fields, and charming villages.

Enjoy sweeping vistas of the Annapurna peaks and the iconic Machhapuchchhre (Fishtail Mountain). The day ends with an overnight stay at Pitam Deurali, where you'll ascend a total of 1,278 meters with a few short descents of around 100 meters along the way. 4. Day
Trek from Pitam Deurali to Forest Camp (Kokar) – Annapurna’s Hidden Gem

Today’s trek to Forest Camp (2,600 m) is about 6 km and takes around 4-5 hours. The trail ascends through dense rhododendron forests, home to diverse wildlife and bird species. As you climb higher, the air becomes cooler, and the surroundings more serene.

Forest Camp, also known as Kokar, is a tranquil spot surrounded by thick woods, making it an ideal resting place before ascending further into the Annapurna region. This day is shorter to help with acclimatization and to prepare for the trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp. You will ascend approximately 550 meters, with short descents totaling around 50 meters. The trail is steep and rocky but rewards you with unmatched views of the Annapurna range, including Machapuchare and Mardi Himal.

The Mardi Himal Trek can be completed in 5 days by starting from Kande and exiting from Siding. Alternatively, you can extend the trek to include Poon Hill or continue to Annapurna Base Camp for a more immersive experience.
